Tips for Home Buyers!

Get pre-approved with your lender prior to shopping for your new home.

Getting pre-approved with your lender will speed up the process when you find the home of your dreams. In our market, buyers need to be prepared to put an offer in when they find the home they want because there are many people looking to buy. Don’t let this get in your way of getting your dream home!

Narrow down your search.

Purchasing a home can be overwhelming so think about what you want to be part of your home search. Number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Do you need a garage? Is location to schools important to you? This will help your Realtor find the right properties to show you!

Communicate with your Realtor regularly!

Houses come on the market any given day and it is important to stay in touch with your Realtor to ensure you are getting prompt information on new listings.

Don’t make any large financial changes when home shopping.

Taking out a personal loan, quitting your job, or running up credit card debt while searching for your new home are a few things that can hurt your chances of actually getting the home of your dreams. Your lender looks are credit and income sources during closing and, if you have done any of the above recently, you are at risks of not getting your loan approved and losing the home. If you have to do one of the above, talk to your Realtor and lender beforehand for the best advice so you don’t miss out on the home of your dreams!
